CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER EAST AFRICA
Under the supervision of the chief investment officer based in London you will participate with a growing autonomy to all the steps of the investment cycle.
Your main tasks will be to:
– Contribute to generate a qualified deal flow in East Africa (especially Kenya and Uganda)
– Realize pre-investment analysis and due diligence:
• Get to know target companies’ management, assess their readiness for their proposed projects, create relationships o trust and confidence
• Collect financial and market data in view of investment opportunities;
• Analyze business and financial opportunities in regard with targeted companies;
• Participate in due diligences and set up business plans;
• Participate to the elaboration of investment memos and reporting memos
– Participate to deals negotiation and structuration
– Monitor investments, in close relationship with the investee’s management
– Participate to the steering committee and to cross-country tasks (methodology, tools, etc…).
The job will be based in Naïrobi or Kampala, probably with regular trips within East Africa and to London’s headquarters from time to time. …

Additionally, we are looking for the following attributes:
– 5 to 7 years’ experience in finance, business development/strategy, or related areas; exposure to entrepreneurship, medium-size businesses will be considered as a strong asset. Individuals with experience in private equity or SME financing are strongly encouraged to apply.
– Advanced degree in finance and/or Management
– Fluency in English is a must. Good notions of French will be a plus
